How do I access my University of West London student email?
To access your University of West London student email go to student-webmail.uwl.ac.uk In the box labelled Domain/User name: type the word student\ followed by your Student ID Number (as noted on your Unique card). In the Password box enter your network password (this is the password you use to log onto a computer in the LRC). Where is my Student ID Number?

Do students pay to attend their ceremony?
No. There is no charge for students to attend their ceremony but you must complete your online registration in order to reserve your seat. Guests of students will be charged £20 each. The charge for guest tickets is non-refundable.Back to top of page
Do I have to complete my online registration by a certain date to reserve my seats?
Yes. You must complete your online registration in order to attend your ceremony no later than 12.00 (midnight) on Friday 20 June 2014. It will not be possible for you to attend your ceremony if you have not completed your online registration by this deadline.Back to top of page
Do I still have to register online if I am not bringing guests to my ceremony?
Yes. You must register so that we can reserve a seat for you in the student seating area. You must also be in possession of a valid ticket. You will not gain entrance to the venue without a valid student ticket.Back to top of page
I have guests who are coming from overseas. How do I obtain a visa?
If you are inviting guests or family (maximum of two) from abroad who need help in obtaining a visa to attend your graduation, please use your online registration confirmation along with your transcript as supporting evidence for the Home Office. If the visa application for your guests is unsuccessful, then contact your School Office.Back to top of page
How many tickets am I allowed?
Each graduand is guaranteed 2 guest tickets at a cost of £20 each. This charge is non-refundable.Back to top of page
Can I buy more than 2 guest tickets?
If there is space available in the auditorium you may request up to a maximum of 3 additional guest tickets for your award ceremony, however,
you must ensure that you select the correct number of additional guest ticket requests on the registration webpage in the additional guest tickets box.
Additional Guest tickets cost £20 each and are non-refundable.
Additional guest tickets are not available for babies and children under 6 years of age. Additional guest tickets will not be guaranteed until you receive written confirmation of places available once the registration has closed and all seats will be calculated. You will be notified no earlier than three weeks before your ceremony whether it has been possible to allocate the additional guest tickets you have requested. Requesting additional guest tickets when completing your online registration does not guarantee the tickets will be allocated to you. Please note that if your ceremony is very busy, you will only have a maximum of 2 guaranteed guests allocated.
Do not make travel arrangements, book flights or make hotel reservations until your additional guest tickets have been confirmed.
How will I get my tickets?
Due to the tight timescales between your Award Board and the Graduation Ceremonies, tickets will be made available as a ‘walk-in’ ticket payment and collection service to students on specified dates and times. This is to ensure that you will receive your tickets in time.

Which robe do I need to order?

How do I measure my head?
To determine your head measurement use a flexible measuring tape. Place the end of the measure in the centre of your forehead and manoeuvre horizontally around the head until back to the starting point. This will give you your hat size. Measurements will be accepted in either centimetres or inches by the hire company.Back to top of page

A residents’ permit scheme operates in the local area on Stadium event days and illegally parked vehicles will be fined by the local council and may be towed away. What happens if I arrive late?
Please note that the ceremonies run to a very tight schedule and cannot wait for you and your guests if you are late! In previous years graduands have missed their slot due to late arrival and were unable to be presented. Please make sure this doesn’t happen to you – give yourself plenty of time to get to the Great Hall. You will need to allow one and a half hours before the start of your ceremony to register, collect your academic dress and have your photographs taken.Back to top of page
Can I bring my children?
Due to health and safety reasons and the ceremonial nature of the event children aged 5 years or under will not be permitted to attend the ceremonies. Children aged 6 years and above may attend the ceremonies as guests. Please note that all guests, including children, must sit in an allocated seat. This means that seats for children will need to be reserved and purchased as guest tickets. Children aged 6 years and above will not be permitted entry to the venue on the day of your ceremony without a valid guest ticket.Back to top of page
Can I sit where I want?
You and your guests must sit in the seats allocated to you. You must sit in the seat number allocated to you on your graduand name card, which you will receive on arrival at the Registration Desk. You will not be seated next to your friends or guests as the seats have been allocated in alphabetical order for each award. This is the order that you will be called onto the platform. If you do not sit in the correct seat you will miss your turn.Back to top of page
